Vegan Spicy Cheddar Fries (baked)

We’ve been playing around with different seasonings lately when we have black bean burgers (a staple) and it paid off! They get the cheesy flavor from nutritional yeast, a flakey seasoning that is packed with vitamins. I love these fries and know you will too!

Ingredients: Serves 3-4

  • 3 medium-sized russet potatoes, sliced thin and long
  • 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast (split)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (omit if you are sensitive to spice)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add the sliced potatoes to a large bowl and drizzle the olive oil on top. Mix to combine.
  3. Add 1 Tablespoon of the nutritional yeast and all the remaining spices. Mix to combine.
  4. Pour the fries onto the baking sheet and arrange them all flat. Sprinkle the remaining 1 Tablespoon of nutritional yeast onto the fries.
  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until they are crispy and golden. Enjoy!
